Make your T-shirt a statement, not a basic.
We use fashion to tell the world who we are. Our styles communicate a lot. While our visual messages can’t always go too deep, new T-shirt trend lets you say it like it is. This pretty basic item that everyone has in their closets is getting a lot of attention lately. We are getting more vocal and choosing to speak up. You can now say it with your T-shirt: what matters to you, what you stand for, what kind of social issues are you involved in. Wear your heart on your sleeve and let the clothes do the talking.
It started with Maria Grazia Chiuri’s first collection for Dior. She sent a model down the runway wearing a T-shirt that said:”We should all be feminists”. Fashion has lately been getting involved in movements like feminism, but it seems that Maria Grazia was the one that captured everyone’s attention. Part of the profits from Dior’s shirt will go to Rihanna’s charity. If you want to get it, it’ll be available until May 15 in all Dior boutiques for $710. While Maria Grazia was leading the pack, many street style brands were happy to follow. So, you can now make a statement and stay within your budget (see our examples below).
From left to right: Stradivarius, H&M, Monki.
No matter if you consider yourself a feminist or not, you must have some cause that’s close to your heart. Use your T-shirt as a canvas and paint your own fashion statement.
